Rap group Dopeadelicz is on cloud none right now. And why won’t they be? They have landed a gig in Megastar Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Kaala. The rap group, consisting of Tony Sebastian, Rajesh Radhakrishnan, Abhishek Kurme and Akhilesh Sutar, has worked on several songs like Legalize It, D Rise and many more.
“Ranjith sir (director) was doing a lot of research for Kaala when he heard about us and wanted us to be part of the movie. We play a hip-hop gang in the movie and have also done a track for it. We started singing in 2010 and by 2011 had released our tracks. By 2013, we had participated in a few television shows and had started giving live performances. We are a team that performs in five languages,” said an excited Tony Sebastian.
About their meeting with Rajinikanth, Tony added, “We met him for the first time and didn’t know what to speak. We were surprised and kept staring at him. This is our first time in Tamil movies and we always wanted to work in the industry. We have always had this feeling of staying far away from where we belong. So, when we got this opportunity, we grabbed it.”
