Actor Santhanam is experimenting quite a bit to get his name once again on the blockbuster’s list. The Vallavanukku Pullum Aayudham actor was last seen on screens in Gulu Gulu which hit the theaters under the direction of director Rathna Kumar with actress Athulya Chandra as the female lead. But the actor has moved on to his next movie, and is currently gearing up for the release of his next drama titled Agent Kannayiram. The movie is the official remake of hit Telugu film Agent Sai Srinivasa Athreya which hit the screens under the direction of story teller Swaroop R. S. J with actor Naveen Polishetty in the lead. The two-minute odd trailer opens with a flickering fluorescent tube light, then goes the voiceover of actor Santhanam saying, “Received no complaints about dead-bodies found near the railway tracks.” Following which we see a cop in a police station uttering, “A suspicious item found in a crime scene becomes evidence! However, if it is a joker like him, he becomes a suspect.” In the next scene we get the gist about the case where the father of the victim played by actor Munishkanth says, “My daughter was raped and murdered.” We have a chic introduction of Santhanam donning the stylish detective suit.
Earlier speaking about actor Santhanam’s character in the movie, director Manoj Beedha said, “The moment the audience hears Santhanam’s name, comedy is all they expect. Santhanam is working to break that image. This flick will help him do that. So, his fans can expect to see him in a different shade in Agent Kannayiram.” Apart from actor Santhanam, Agent Kannayiram has actress Riya Suman of Seeru fame playing the female lead role. The casting of the film has actors Sruthi Hariharan, Munishkanth, Redin Kingsley, Pugazh, E. Ramdoss, Indhumathy, Madhan Dhakshinamoorthy, Aadhira, and Vanessa Cruez essaying various other supporting parts. The musical department of the flick is handled by music director Yuvan Shankar Raja.
