Actor Sasi Kumar has always been at his best when it comes to playing a rural character. His filmography stands as a corroboration to the statement. The actor was last seen on screen in Kombu Vatcha Singamda which hit the screens under the directorial of story teller S. R. Prabhakaran. The film garnered negative reviews from both audiences and critics alike. As a result, it could not do well at the box office. Now the actor has moved on to his next project which is titled Kaari. Debutant film maker M. Hemanth Kumar has helmed the flick. The flick that went on floors a couple of months back has been wrapped, and is in the post production shaping up for release.
The production house has dropped the trailer of the flick online. Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has shared the trailer of the flick on social media. Taking to his official twitter handle, story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj shared the trailer of the entertainer, and wrote, “Very happy to share the Kaari trailer! The two minutes odd cut, opens in a rural set up with a battalion of men with spear in hand offering prayers to their village deity. Then the hero is introduced with an action block where we witness Sasi Kumar thrashing henchmen. Following the scene comes the antagonist intro with J. D. Chakravarthy who appears to be a corporate businessman creating a ruckus in the village trying to bring down Sasi Kumar. A sensitive issue hits the town where two villages compete to run a temple administration. All the events culminate in a Jallikattu competition which will ultimately decide who should run the temple administration. Sasi Kumar gets ready to take part in the Jallikattu competition to win and bring the temple admiration under the control of his village.
Apart from actor Sasi Kumar, the project has actress Parvathi Arun making her debut in Tamil cinema as a female lead. The casting department of the project has J. D. Chakravarthy, Balaji Shaktivel, Aadukalam Naren, big boss fame actress Samyuktha Shanmughanathan, Ammu Abhirami, and Redin Kingsley playing various other supporting roles. Music director D. Imman will be handling the musical instruments for the film. Cinematographer Ganesh Chandra has been behind the camera for the movie. The Editing department of the entertainer has been handed over to editor Shiva Nandeeswaran. Anbariv duo has choreographed the action blocks for the flick. The venture is funded by S. Lakshman Kumar for the banner house Prince Pictures.
On the work front, the actor who was last seen on screens in Kombu Vatcha Singamda is currently busy shooting for his upcoming drama titled Pagaivanuku Arulvai directed by filmmaker Anis in which he will be seen alongside actress Vani Bhojan and Bindhu Madhavi, Naa Naa helmed by director Nirmal Kumar in which he has shared the screen space with actor Sarath Kumar, and Common Man filmed by storyteller Sathyasiva in which he has co starred with actress Hari Priya. On the other hand, Malayalam actress Parvathi Arun who is gearing up for the release of Kaari will next be seen in the Kannada drama titled Lankasura helmed by film maker Pramod Muniswamy.
