Actor Sasikumar pleasantly surprised Tamil cinema audience both as a director and actor with his impressive drama Subramaniapuram and announced his arrival into Kollywood. Past few years have been tad rough for the star. He is slowly finding his way out of it. The Kombu Vatcha Singamda actor had his last outing earlier this year in Garudan directed by R S Durai Senthilkumar. He will soon have his next release in Nandhan. Storyteller Era Saravanan, who had previously directed the actor in Udanpirappe, has penned and crafted the flick. Actress Sruthi Periyasamy of Bigg Boss Tamil fame has played the female lead part in the drama. Nandhan is all set to hit the screens worldwide on 20th of September.
The makers have now launched the trailer of the film on social media. Taking to his official X account, actor Sasikumar dropped a poster from the flick along with a link to the trailer of Nandhan, and wrote, “Nandhan trailer. Nandhan from September 20.” Here is the post made by the actor.
Two minute trailer of Nandhan shows an innocent worker, played by Sasikumar, being exploited by his evil boss. We are given a few glimpses of Sasikumar’s family consisting of his wife essayed by Sruthi Periyasamy, and their son, leading a happy life. Suddenly everything is at stake when Sasikumar decides to stand up to his boss. The trailer ends with the actor saying, “Until now, we sidelined ourselves thinking power is needed only to rule. But now I realize that we need power even to exist.” Nandhan is set to clash with Harish Kalyan’s Lubber Pandhu directed by Tamizharasan Pachamuthu, Kaali Venkat’s Dhonima filmed by director Jagadeesan Subu, Hiphop Tamizha Adhi’s Kadaisi Ulaga Por crafted by Era Saravanan, Sathish’s Sattam En Kaiyil helmed by Chachi, and Aegan’s Kozhipannai Chelladurai scripted by Seenu Ramasamy.
Apart from Sasikumar and Sruthi Periyasamy, the casting unit of the drama has actors Balaji Sakthivel, Samuthirakani, Mathesh, Mithun, Katta Erumbu Stalin, V Gnanavelu, G M Kumar, Sithan Mohan, and Sakthi Saravanan portraying various supporting roles. Music director Ghibran Vaibodha has scored music for the movie. Cinematographer R V Saran has been behind the lens for the project. Editor Nelson Anthony has been roped in to trim the flick. Art director C Udhayakumar has erected sets for the film. Stuntman John Mark has choreographed action moves. The entertainer is produced by Era Saravanan himself under his home banner Era Entertainment. The venture will be distributed by R Ravindran under the production company Trident Arts.
On the work front, currently actor Sasi Kumar is engaged in his next projects Evidence scripted by Ranjith Manikandan in which he will be co starring with actor Naveen Chandra, and Freedom crafted by Sathyasiva in which he will be seen alongside actress Lijo Mol Jose. Besides these ventures, the actor has a couple of delayed entertainers in Naa Naa helmed by N V Nirmal in which he has shared screen space with actor Sarathkumar, and Pagaivanuku Arulvai filmed by Anees in which he has associated with actresses Vani Bhojan and Bindhu Madhavi.
