Musician turned actor G V Prakash Kumar lastly entertained audiences in the romantic entertainer Dear crafted by Anand Ravichandran with actress Aishwarya Rajesh in the female lead part. The Watchman star will soon be seen on screen in the upcoming drama christened Kingston. It will be the 25th work of his acting career. Newbie filmmaker Kamal Prakash has penciled and helmed the venture. Writer Dhivek S Sekar has written the dialogues for the entertainer. Actress Divyabharathi, who starred alongside G V Prakash Kumar in Bachelor, has once again romanced the actor in the entertainer. Kingston is all set to hit the screens worldwide on 7th of March this year.
The production house has begun to promote the drama aggressively across all spaces. They had recently shared the first single ‘Raasa Raasa’ and teaser of the flick on social media. Now they have launched the second single from the movie. Taking to his official X account, actor G V Prakash Kumar himself shared the second number ‘Manda Bathram’ from Kingston, and worded, “Celebrating death like never before! Singer and lyricist Gana Francis has penned lyrics, and lent his voice for the track. Actor G V Prakash Kumar has also donned the musician’s hat for the movie. The teaser of the film which was released recently had some killer sea diving and underwater shots that got the attention of the audience. Speaking in a recent interview, actor G V Prakash Kumar disclosed, “We had to increase the budget of Kingston by 50% than what was intended. We spent most of it on the CG works as the film demanded it. If there is fantastic reception for the flick, there will surely be a sequel to it with an even bigger budget.”
Apart from G V Prakash Kumar and Divyabharathi, casting unit of Kingston also comprises actors Azhagam Perumaal, Chetan, Elango Kumaravel, Arunachaleswaran, Sabumon Abdusamad, Antony, and Rajesh Balachandiran. Gokul Benoy has taken care of the cinematography department of the venture. Editor San Lokesh has been bestowed with the responsibility to chop and patch the drama. Art director S S Moorthy has erected sets for the flick. Stunt master Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed action blocks for the movie. The film is backed by G V Prakash Kumar himself in collaboration with Umesh K R Bansal under the banner house Parallel Universe Pictures home affiliating with Zee Studios.
On the professional front, actor G V Prakash Kumar is presently occupied in his future movies titled 13 scripted by Vivek K Kannan in which he will be sharing screen space with actors Bhavya Trikha, Aadya Prasad, & Gautham Vasudev Menon, and Idi Muzhakkam directed by Seenu Ramasamy in which he will be co starring with actress Gayathrie. On the other hand, actress Divyabharathi is currently busy shooting for her next project Madhil Mel Kaadhal helmed by Anjana Ali Khan in which she will be romancing actor Mugen Rao, a Telugu project G.O.A.T crafted by Naresh Kuppili in which she will be associating with actor Sudigali Sudheer, and a Tamil web series Lingam filmed by director Prasanth Pandiyaraj in which she will be seen alongside actor Kathir.
