Musician turned actor G V Prakash Kumar had his last outing earlier this year in the romantic flick Dear crafted by story teller Anand Ravichandran with actress Aishwarya Rajesh as female lead. The entertainer opened to mixed reviews and had a tepid response among the audience. Now we have news on the actor’s next project. The Sarvam Thaala Mayam star has inked his signature to play the lead role in director Selvaraghavan’s next directorial project titled Mental Manadhil which is touted to be an out and out romantic drama. Actress Madhuri Jain of Sivakumarin Sabadham fame has been signed in to essay the love interest of G V Prakash Kumar. The entertainer is set to go on floors in February of next year.
The production team has officially announced the news on social media. Actor, director, and producer Dhanush K Raja took to his official X handle and unveiled a poster from Mental Manadhil and worded, “A Selvaraghavan love story. All the best to the entire team.” Here is the post made by the actor.

Mental Manadhil marks the first time association of G V Prakash Kumar as an actor and Selvaraghavan as a director. The duo has previously worked together on the status of musician and director in projects Aayirathil Oruvan and Mayakkam Enna. Albums of both the entertainers went on to be a chartbuster. There are massive expectations on this venture among fans of both the stars. Storyteller Selvaraghavan is set to wear the director’s hat nearly after two years. His last work being the horror thriller Naane Varuvean with his brother Dhanush K Raja in dual roles. Selvaraghavan’s previous works including NGK, and Nenjam Marappathillai have not done well commercially. He is said to be looking for a comeback in Mental Manadhil.
The casting crew is currently zeroing in on artists that will be part of the film. The technical side of the flick has music director G V Prakash Kumar himself composing music for the movie. Cinematographer Arun Ramakrishnan has been brought on board to crank cameras for the entertainer. Editor Balaji has been bestowed with the responsibility to trim the movie. Art director R K Vijay Murugan will be engineering sets for the venture. Stunt master Action Prakash will be choreographing action moves. Mental Manadhil is set to be bankrolled by G V Prakash Kumar himself under his production company Parallel Universe Production House.
On the work front, actor G V Prakash Kumar is currently in the sets of story teller Seenu Ramasamy shooting for their venture christened Idimuzhakkam in which he will be collaborating with actress Gayathrie Shankar. He will soon begin to shoot for his next projects 13 which will be helmed by K Vivek Kannan in which he will be co starring with actors Gautham Vasudev Menon, Bhavya Trikha, and Aadya Prasad, and Kingston which is set to be crafted by Kamal Prakash in which he will be romancing actress Divyabharathi. Apart from these flicks he will be composing music for Sudha Kongara’s Puranaanooru, S U Arun Kumar’s Veera Dheera Sooran, and Venky Kudumula’s Robinhood.
