Actor Dhanush K Raja lastly entertained audiences in the action film Raayan which was helmed by himself with artists S J Suryah, Kalidas Jayaram, Sundeep Kishan, and Dushara Vijayan in lead roles. The entertainer was praised with mixed reviews by critics. Despite that it had a great run in the box office. The Captain Miller actor is presently occupied in his upcoming movie Idly Kadai. Besides portraying the lead part, he has also written the script, and is crafting the drama. Actress Nithya Menen, who previously shared screen with actor Dhanush in Thiruchitrambalam will be seen in the female lead role. Actress Shalini Pandey of Gorilla fame will be playing the second female lead. The shoot for the drama is expected to be wrapped by the end of this month. The production unit has already publicized that Idly kadai will be out in theaters worldwide this summer on 10th of April.
The makers had recently released the first look poster of the flick on social media. Now we have an interesting news that actor Arun Vijay has joined the cast of the film. Actor Dhanush himself has disclosed the news. Taking to his official X profile, actor Dhanush shared a poster of himself with the actor and worded, “Great to work with such a hardworking, dedicated and sincere actor Arun Vijay brother. In the poster shared by Dhanush, he is seen standing inside a boxing ring carrying a flask behind actor Arun Vijay who is seated with his boxing gloves on. This snap is completely contrast to the first look posters which had actor Dhanush in a much younger look in a traditional attire. It, sort of alluded to, that the film is based on a rural background centered round ordinary people. But this picture conveys there are more interesting elements to the drama. Apart from actors Dhanush, Nithya Menon, and Shalini Pandey, the casting unit of Idly Kadai also features actors Prakash Raj, P Samuthirakani, and Rajkiran in pivotal supporting characters.
Music composer G V Prakash Kumar has joined forces with actor Dhanush for the ninth time in his career after their sensational hits in Polladhavan, Mayakkam Enna, Asuran, and Captain Miller. Cinematographer Kiran Koushik has been brought on board to operate the camera. Editor G K Prasanna has been roped in to trim the entertainer. Art director Rahul will be erecting sets for the project. Idly Kadai is funded by Dhanush himself under his home productions Wunderbar Films partnering with Aakash Baskaran for the banner house Dawn Pictures. Actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin has bagged the theatrical rights of the flick and will be releasing it under the production label Red Giant Movies.
On the professional front, actor Dhanush will next grace the screens in Kubera directed by Sekhar Kammula in which he has collaborated with Telugu superstar Nagarjuna and Rashmika Mandanna. On the other hand, actor Arun Vijay will soon have a release in Retta Thala scripted by Kris Thirukumaran in which he has romanced actresses Siddhi Idnani and Tanya Ravichandran, and Borrder filmed by director Arivazhagan. On the other side, actress Nithya Menon is currently busy shooting for her future ventures Dear Exes directed by Kamini in which she will be featuring alongside actors Navdeep, Prateik Patil Babbar, and Vinay Rai, and an untitled venture crafted by Pandiraj in which she will be associating with actor Vijay Sethupathi.
