Actor Sivakarthikeyan’s towering rise in Tamil cinema hailing from a humble background is a great inspiration for many budding artists. The Namma Veettu Pillai actor had his last outing in the science fiction action-comedy flick Ayalaan directed by R Ravikumar with actress Rakul Preet Singh as female lead. He is now gearing up for the release of his next biographical war drama titled Amaran. Actress Sai Pallavi has been cast as the pair. Director Rajkumar Periasamy has directed the entertainer. He has worked with Stefan Ritcher to shape the screenplay. The film is based on the book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories Of Modern Military written by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. Amaran is slated to hit the screens as a festive release this year on Diwali.
As India celebrates its 78th Independence Day, team Amaran has shared the trailer of the movie on social media. Taking to their official X account, the production house dropped a poster along with the trailer of Amaran and captioned it, “We stand free because they stand strong, salute to our soldiers! Happy Independence Day wishes from Amaran. Amaran October 31.” Here is the post made by the production team.
Amaran is touted to be a biographical film based on the life of Martyr Major Mukund Varadarajan who sacrifices his life in the anti-terrorist search operation. One-minute odd teaser cut opens to a terrorist instructor training people, “Future freedom fighters! This is the demo for all of you, see what I will do to him. What do we need? Freedom.” Following it we witness actor Sivakarthikeyan’s character delivering a rallying cry to his battalion, “There are more than 20000 base camps for infantry soldiers in India. But if you are here in Kashmir in Shopian base camp, then it means you are all the chosen ones.” Then we have a slew of bomb blasts and riots in the town. We are thrown a few glimpses of how an army major prepares his troop to defend and secure a range from terrorists.
Apart from Sivakarthikeyan, and Sai Pallavi, the flick has actors Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Shreekumar, Shyam Mohan, Ajaey Naga, Mir Salmaan, and Gaurav Venkatesh playing various supporting roles. Music director G V Prakash Kumar has been roped in to score music for the movie. Cinematographer C H Sai is behind the camera. Editor R Kalaivanan will oversee the editing department. Action master Stefan Richter has choreographed action moves. The entertainer is bankrolled by Kamal Haasan, R Mahendran, and Vivek Krishnani under the production company Raaj Kamal Films International in collaboration with Sony Pictures Films India. Udhayanidhi Stalin of Red Giant Movies has bagged the Tamil Nadu distribution rights of the movie.
On the work front, actor Sivakarthikeyan will soon begin to shoot for his next project tentatively titled SK 23 under director A R Murugadoss in which he will be romancing debutant actress Rukmini Vasanth.
