Actor Sivakarthikeyan had his last outing in the likes of the romantic comedy flick Prince which hit the theaters under the direction of story teller K V Anudeep with Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka in the female lead role. The venture was tagged with negative reviews by both critics and audience. Despite that, the actor’s star power managed to ensure a decent collection in the box office. The Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam actor has now put that behind him, and is gearing up for the release of his next Tamil Telugu bilingual project christened Maaveeran. The Telugu version of the movie is titled Mahaveerudu. Director Madonne Ashwin who previously helmed Mandela, has written, and crafted the entertainer. The drama which went on floors last year with a small pooja ceremony is now done and dusted ready to hit the theaters on 14th of July this year.
The production team has now released the trailer of the venture on social media. Actor Sivakarthikeyan himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter page, the actor shared a link to the trailer of Maaveeran and wrote, “Here is our Maaveeran trailer. Hope you all like it. Maaveeran from July 14th in theaters.” Here is the tweet made by the actor.

Nearly two and a half minutes long trailer video opens to a voiceover, “Mother, where is brother? He must have left in a fit of rage to fight them.” In the visuals we witness a gang of henchmen surround actor Sivakarthikeyan. Following which we see a man saying, “He thrashed the poster like a mad man.” Another character says, “Brother, do not trust him. He kept saying sorry even as he thrashed us.” Then we have a scene where the actor tells his mother, “Do you not have an ounce of fear, ma? Why are you picking a fight with the partymen?” Finally, we have the intro of actor Mysskin as a politician, who enounces, “Even if Yeman himself wrongs the people, I would fight back.” Then we have shots of the actor sketching a superhero character to develop comics. The scene cuts to actor Mysskin mouthing, “I am a politician, man. I am the one who pens down your stories.” The trailer ends with actor Sivakarthikeyan saying to Mysskin, “I did not do anything myself; it is how the story goes.” The actor retorts, “Do you take me for a freaking idiot?” The trailer has enjoyed a great reception among the audience, and has set high expectations on the drama.
Apart from actors Sivakarthikeyan, and Aditi Shankar, the casting department of the drama has veteran actress Saritha, Mysskin, Goundamani, Yogi babu, Monisha Blessy, Sunil Reddy, and Koushik Mahata essaying various other supporting roles. Editor Philomin Raj has been roped in to edit the film. Art directors Kumar Gangappan and Arun Venjaramoodu have designed backgrounds for the venture. Stunt master Yannick Ben has choreographed action blocks for the project. The flick is funded by Arun Viswa for the production label Shanthi Talkies.
On the work front, actor Sivakarthikeyan who was last seen on screens in the romantic comedy flick Prince is currently busy shooting for his next venture tentatively christened SK 21 directed by filmmaker Rajkumar Periyasamy in which he will be collaborating with actress Sai Pallavi.
