Actor SJ Suriya is back with vengeance. He has been inking his signature for several dramas of late. The Maanadu actor had his last outing in the likes of Kadamaiyai Sei which hit the screens under the direction of film maker Venkat Ragavan with actress Yashika Aannand in the lead role. The entertainer opened to negative reviews from the audience and critics. As a result, it did not do well at the box office. Now, the actor has put that behind him, and is gearing up to make his digital debut with the web drama titled Vadhandhi: The Fable Of Velonie. The series is directed by storyteller Andrew Louis. The series which went on floors some time ago has now been wrapped, and is getting shaped in the post production for release.
Now the production house has unveiled the trailer of the web drama on social media along with the release date. Vadhandhi: The Fable Of Velonie is set to premiere on 2nd of December this year on Amazon Prime Video OTT platform. Actor SJ Suriya himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor dropped the trailer of the series and wrote, “Ya ya ya (In Rajini sir’s modulation). The Vadhandhiii is not a Vadhandhi anymore. The two-minute odd trailer cut, opens with the voiceover of actor SJ Suriya saying, “For every policeman, at least a case will hit him hard in his career. If he solves it, no problem. If he does not…” In the visuals, we see the actor going to places, making hypotheses trying to solve the case. The trailer ends with the actor swearing to find the perpetrator. Earlier talking about the drama director Andrew Louis said, “Vadhandhi: The Fable Of Velonie will be a gripping crime thriller. As the title gives away, rumors will be the central theme of this series. The entire process, from penning the script to turning it to the visual medium, has been one exciting journey. The whole thing was possible only because of Pushkar and Gayathri as creative producers.”
Apart from actor S J Suryah, Vadhandhi: The Fable Of Velonie has veteran actress Laila essaying a pivotal part. The casting of the series has actors Nassar, Sanjana, Vivek Prasanna, Vaibhav Murugesan, Smruthi Venkat, Avinash Raghudevan, Ashwin Kumar, Vikky Aadithya, C Sujatha, Hareesh Peradi, Kumaran Thangarajan, Aruvi Balaji, G Maheshwaran, Kulappulli Leela, Kavin Jay Babu, and M Meeran Mitheen in various other supporting roles. The music for the entertainer has been composed by musician Simon K King. Cinematographer Saravanan Ramasamy has shouldered the camera for the film. The editing department has been handed over to editor Richard Kevin. Stunt coordinators Dhilip Subbarayan and Dinesh Subbarayan have choreographed the action sequences of the series. The web drama is bankrolled by Pushkar and Gayathri under the production house Wallwatcher Films.
On the work front, actor SJ Suryah who was last seen on screens in the comedy drama Kadamaiyai Sei is currently busy shooting for his next venture christened Bommai under the direction of director Radha Mohan in which he will be collaborating with actress Priya Bhavani Shankar, for Mark Anthony filmed by director Adhik Ravichandran of AAA fame in which he will be seen alongside actor Vishal, and for a Telugu project tentatively titled as RC 15 helmed by storyteller S Shankar in which he will be co starring with actors Ram Charan, and Kiara Advani. Apart from these ventures, the actor has a couple of his delayed ventures in the likes of Uyarndha Manithan scripted by filmmaker Tamilvannan, and Iravaakaalam filmed by storyteller Ashwin Saravanan.
