Actor Soori’s rise in Tamil cinema is not only fascinating but an inspiration to many trying their luck in the industry. Starting his career with a slew of uncredited roles to turning a comedian in Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu to evolving into a lead hero in Viduthalai, he has come a long way. Following the success of Viduthalai, he backed it with consecutive lead roles in Garudan and Kottukkaali. The Naai Kutty star was last seen on screens in Viduthalai part 2 which hit theaters recently under the direction of auteur Vetrimaaran with actors Vijay Sethupathi, Bhavani Sre, and Manju Warrier in lead roles. The entertainer has opened to positive reviews and is running successfully. But the Etharkkum Thunindhavan actor has already moved on to his next film titled Maaman. Film maker Pandiyaraj Maaman, who previously delivered Bruce Lee and the critically acclaimed web series Vilangu, has written the script, and will be crafting the entertainer. Actress Aishwarya Lekshmi of Ponniyin Selvan fame has been cast against actor Soori in the drama. Veteran actor Rajkiran is set to portray a prominent character in the movie.
The project recently went on floors with a small pooja ceremony in Chennai. The production house has announced the news on social media. Taking to their official X account, Think Music dropped a video of the pooja ceremony and wrote, “Here’s the pooja video of Soori‘s next with Prasanth Pandiyaraj Maaman! The production team is currently finalizing the cast that will be part of the film. An official update on the same is expected to be made soon. The technical side of the flick has music director Hesham Abdul Wahab handling musical gears for the drama. Cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman has been brought on board to operate cameras for the venture. Editor Ganesh Siva has been roped in to edit the flick. Art director R Kishore will be fashioning sets for the entertainer. Stunt master Action Sandhosh will be choreographing action moves for the flick. The drama is produced by K Kumar under the production banner Lark Studios.
On the work front, actor Soori will soon be seen on screens in Yezhu Kadal Yezhu Malai directed by storyteller Ram in which he has shared screen space with actors Nivin Pauly and Anjali. The entertainer premiered in the Rotterdam film festival where it received a standing ovation. On the other hand, currently actress Aishwarya Lekshmi is busy shooting for her next Tamil project Thug Life helmed by Mani Ratnam with actor Kamal Haasan in the lead role. She will soon join the sets of debutant director K P Rohith for their Telugu venture SYG – Sambarala Yeti Gattu which is headlined by actor Sai Durgha Tej.
