Actor Vijay was last seen on screens in the dark comedy venture Beast which hit the screens under the direction of film maker Nelson Dilip Kumar with actress Pooja Hegde as female lead. The movie opened to negative reviews from both the critics and audience. Many trolls were made into the film. Despite all that, the flick went on to be a solid box office hit. Now, the actor has moved on to his next project titled Varisu. Director Vamshi Paidipally will be directing the entertainer. Actress Rashmika Mandanna will be seen in the female lead role. The flick went on floors earlier this year in the month of April with a small pooja ceremony. Pictures of actors Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna from the ceremony became viral on social media. While the shooting for the drama is happening in full swing, the production unit is busy in finalizing the cast that will be part of the movie.
Now, the team has roped in actor Sriman to play a role in Varisu. The actor himself has shared the news on social media, and has expressed his gratitude for the opportunity. It is a known thing that actor Sriman is a close buddy of actor Vijay and has costarred with him in a number of films starting from the vintage drama Love Today, to the very recent Master. As usual the expectations on the entertainer are quite massive. The production unit is eyeing to bring the movie to the theaters as a Pongal release next year.
Director Vamshi Paidipally has penned the story of Varisu along with writers Hari and Ahishor Solomon. Writer Vivek has written the dialogues of the movie. Apart from actors Vijay and Rashmika Mandanna, the casting department of the flick has actors R. Sarathkumar, Shaam, Prabhu, Prakash Raj, Srikanth, Yogi Babu, Jayasudha, Khushbu, Sangeetha Krish, Ganesh Venkatraman, Sriman, and Samyuktha Shanmughanathan essaying various other supporting roles. Music director Thaman S will be handling the musical instruments for the entertainer. Cinematographer Karthik Palani will be covering the drama. Editor Praveen K. L will take care of the editing department. The film is bankrolled by Dil Raju along with Sirish under the production label Sri Venkateswara Creations.
On the work front, actress Rashmika Mandanna who was last seen on screens in Tamil in actor Karthi’s Sulthan is gearing up for the release of her debut Hindi drama Goodbye helmed by director Vikas Bahl in which she has shared the screen space with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan. The actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming Telugu venture Pushpa 2: The Rule filmed by Sukumar in which she will be collaborating with actors Allu Arjun and Fahadh Faasil, and for her Hindi project christened Animal directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga in which she will be romancing actor Ranbir Kapoor. Apart from these ventures, the actress has a Hindi project titled Mission Majnu scripted by story teller Shantanu Bagchi in which she has co starred with actor Sidharth Malhotra in the post production shaping up for release.
