Versatile star Sundar C is one of few artists in the industry to have tasted success across domains. He has seen the highs and lows as a producer, director, and actor. The Muthina Kathirikai star was last seen on screens earlier this year in the action crime thriller Vallan helmed by V R Mani Seiyon with actress Tanya Hope in the female lead role. The Pattampoochi actor is now getting ready for the release of his next action-comedy drama titled Gangers. Apart from headlining the venture, he has also written and directed the movie. He has joined forces with actor Vadivelu nearly 15 years for this project. Actress Catherine Tresa of Madras fame will be seen in the female lead role. The entertainer which went on floors last year has now been wrapped, and is in the post production stage.
The production house has now announced the release date of the movie on social media. Gangers is all set to hit the screens on 24th of April this year. Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Avni Cinemax shared a special poster from the drama and announced, “Bow-down to the OG GANGERS. Sundar C and Vadivelu laid the foundation to go on to be a crowd loving combo in their spectacularly written, staged, and performed comedies in actor Prashant starrer Winner. Under Sundar C’s directorial actor Vadivelu immensely raised his star power by entertaining audiences in Giri, London, and Rendu. They went a step further and shared screen space to treat audiences to a comedy feast in Thalainagaram and Nagaram Marupakkam. Unfortunately, for reasons best known to them they did not collaborate after that despite their huge success. Both the stars coming together for a venture after a long time has skyrocketed expectations.
Beside Sundar C, Vadivelu, and Catherine Tresa, the casting unit of the project also has actors Bagavathi Perumal, Hareesh Peradi, Esakki Krishnasamy, Munishkanth, Arul Doss, Mimi Gopi, and Vichu Viswanath portraying various supporting characters. Music director C Sathya will be working on the musical department of the entertainer. Cinematographer E Krishnasamy has been trusted with the cinematography division of the movie. Editor Praveen Antony has been brought onboard to bring coherence to the drama. Art director R Saravana Abiraman has designed the background for the film. Stunt master Stunner Shyam has choreographed action blocks. The entertainer is backed by Khushbu and Sundar C under the production company Avni Cinemax. ACS Arun Kumar is set to present the drama under his banner house Benzz Media Pvt Ltd.
On the professional front, presently actor Sundar C is engaged in his future flick One 2 One directed by K Thirugnanam in which he will be co starring with actors Anurag Kashyap and Nitu Chandra. Apart from this entertainer, he is directing Mookuthi Amman 2 which will feature actresses Nayanthara & Regina Cassandra in the lead roles, and the third installment of the blockbuster Kalakalappu franchise. On the other hand, actor Vadivelu is busy shooting for his upcoming flick Maareesan crafted by Sudheesh Shankar in which he will be teaming up with Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil yet again after their successful outing in Maamannan, and Comedy Cowboy helmed by story teller Nalan Kumarasamy.
