Actor Vadivelu opened his account in Kollywood with an uncredited part in 1988, and indisputably went on to build a comedy empire for himself and ruled over it for more than three decades. Whenever he was presented with opportunities, he has never shunned playing character roles. Now at the final innings of his career he is opting to play impressive supporting roles. The Imsai Arasan 23rd Pulikecei actor was last seen on screens in the comedy horror film Chandramukhi 2 helmed by P Vasu with actor Raghava Lawrence in the lead role. The actor is currently busy shooting for his upcoming entertainer christened Maaresan. Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil will be depicting the lead role in the movie. Malayalam story teller Sudheesh Shankar, who is known for films like Aarumaname and Villali Veeran is directing the movie. Maareesan marks the debut of director Sudheesh Shankar in Tamil cinema. Story credit is given to author Krishna Moorthy. The shoot for the project has crossed the halfway mark.
Actor Vadivelu recently turned 64. The team of Maaresan has shared a special poster from the flick to wish the actor on his birthday. Taking to their X handle, the production house dropped the special poster from the drama and captioned it, “Super Good Films wishes the iconic & versatile actor Vadivelu a very happy birthday! Maaresan Vadivelu
The production house had released the first look poster of the flick earlier this year with a caption ‘The hunt and the hunter’. The poster had the face of a deer engraved in the middle of a road. Actor Vadivelu and Fahadh Faasil are quickly collaborating for a project after their association in the blockbuster entertainer Maamannan which hit the theaters under the directorial of Mari Selvaraj with actors Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles. The expectations around Maaresan are quite high.
The makers are yet to reveal the list of artists that are part of the cast. The technical department of the flick has music director Yuvan Shankar Raja handling musical gears for the entertainer. Cinematographer Kalaiselvan Sivaji will be behind camera for the venture. Editor Sreejith Sarang has been roped in to edit the flick. Art director R Kishore will design sets for the movie. The drama is produced by R B Choudhary under the production banner Super Good Films. Maaresan happens to be the 98th production from the prestigious group.
On the professional front, actor Vadivelu will soon begin to shoot for his next venture titled Gangers. Actor and storyteller Sundar C will be directing and playing the lead role in the drama. Apart from this project, the actor has Comedy Cowboy which is set to be helmed by story teller Nalan Kumarasamy.
