Actress Sunainaa ventured into Kollywood with the psychotic romance action drama Kadhalil Vizhunthen which received critical acclamations. After the success of the film, she went on to star in several noteworthy movies like Yaathumagi, Vamsam, Neerparavai, and Sillu Karupatti. The Kadhalil Vizhunthen actress was last seen on screens in Laththi which hit the theaters under directorial director A. Vinoth Kumar with actor Vishal in the lead role. The entertainer did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Thus, left the theaters unnoticed. The actress has now put that behind her, and is getting ready for the release of her upcoming venture titled Regina. Malayalam film maker Domin DSilva will be making his debut in Tamil cinema with the movie. Writer Madhu Vasu has helped with the script. The entertainer which went on floor in Udumalpet, Tiruppur with a pooja ceremony was shot in, and around the neighborhood of Pollachi and Varkala. The drama is now wrapped, and is in the post production stage getting fine tuned for release.
The production house has now shared the teaser of the drama on social media. Actor Arya has unveiled the teaser. Taking to his official twitter account, the actor dropped a link to the teaser of Regina, and wrote, “Here’s the interesting teaser of Regina. One-minute teaser cut opens to a back shot of actress Sunainaa sitting on a sea shore. Then we have a voiceover of the actress asking, “Do you remember the bank robbery?” We are presented with a few shots of a bank robbery. Then the scene cuts to the actress asking a man who seems like a captive, “Would you like to have something hot? Something chill?” Following which the actress says, “The story is going to change from here.” The teaser gets pacy. We witness a series of quick jump cuts involving stunt sequences and romance bits. The teaser has enjoyed a decent reception among the audience.
Earlier speaking to a leading daily about the project, director Domin DSilva said, “Regina is a revenge thriller. The story of the movie is about a housewife who is put in a tight spot, and her metamorphosis into becoming a robust character for her survival. I am sure the audience will enjoy it.” Speaking on producing the drama, producer, and music director Sathish Nair, stated that he had made a collection of independent albums, and felt that it would be great to use them in feature films to reach more audiences. And that is when his meeting with director Domin DSilva happened, who happened to be looking for a producer, and since he found the script to be interesting, he decided to bankroll it. Regina will have a pan India release in languages Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Hindi.
Apart from actress Sunainaa, Regina has actor Nivas Adthitan playing the male lead part. The casting division of the drama has actors Rithu Manthra, Ananth Nag, Dhina, Gajaraj, Vivek Prasanna, Bava Chelladurai, Appani Sharath, Ranjan, Pasupathi Raj, and Gnanavel in various other supporting roles. Music director Sathish Nair has composed music for the flick. Cinematographer Pavi K Pavan has been behind camera for the drama. Editor Tony John has been brought on board to edit the film. The flick is produced by Sathish Nair under his production company Yellow Bear Production LLP.
On the work front, actress Sunainaa who had her last outing in Tamil cinema in Laththi is currently gearing up for the release of her long-delayed project titled Kathirvel crafted by director Venkat in which she will be seen alongside actor Ajmal Ameer, and Eriyum Kannadi directed by story teller Sachin Dev in which she has shared screen space with actor Nakul for the third time after Kadhalil Vizhunthen, and Maasilamani, in her pipeline waiting to see the light of day.
