Actor Arya had his last outing in the action drama Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam which hit the screens under director M Muthaiah with actress Siddhi Idnani in the female lead role. The entertainer opened to mixed reviews from critics and audience alike. Despite that, it had a decent box office collection. The Purampokku Engira Podhuvudamai actor has now moved on, and will soon begin to shoot for his upcoming flick christened Mr X. Actor Gautham Karthik will be seen in a pivotal part in the flick. Storyteller Manu Anand of FIR fame will be directing the drama. The venture recently went on floors with a small pooja ceremony. Now, we have news about an interesting addition to the cast of the film.
Malayalam actress Manju Warrier has joined the cast of Mr. X. The production house themselves has announced the news on social media. Taking to their official twitter page, the production house shared a poster welcoming actress Manju Warrier on board, and wrote, “Elated to announce – Manju Warrier comes on board Mr X. Speaking to a leading daily about the casting of actress Manju Warrier, director Manu Anand said, “I informed the production house that I was looking to cast an actress like Manju Warrier for a role. Surprisingly, they got me a meeting with the Manju Warrier itself. I narrated the whole story to her. She got interested and asked for the screenplay. I took 40 to 45 days to finish writing the screenplay. Then I met with her, and gave it to her. She read it, and hit the green signal.” Talking about the shooting schedule the director said, “We will begin shooting for the movie sometime in August. First schedule will be in Chennai. Then we will head to a few locations in North India, and overseas. We have planned to wrap the shoot in a period of four months.” Actress Manju Warrier had a very successful last outing in Tamil in superstar Ajith Kumar starrer Thunivu. Mr X is touted to be a spy action thriller drama. Earlier, the production house had released the motion poster of Mr X which was designed in a video game fashion. The motion poster had the tagline, ‘When everything seems lost, a hero will rise.’
Apart from actors Arya, Gautham Karthik, and Manju Warrier, Mr X has actress Anagha Maruthora of Natpe Thunai fame depicting the female lead role. The rest of the cast that will be part of the project is expected to be announced soon. Music director Dhibu Ninan Thomas has been roped in to compose music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Tanveer Mir will be behind camera for the movie. Editor Prasanna G K has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the flick. Art director Indulal Kaveed will be erecting sets for the entertainer. Action director Stunt Silva will be choreographing action blocks for the movie. The drama is produced by S Lakshman Kumar along with A Venkatesh under the banner Prince Pictures.
On the work front, actor Arya who was last seen on screens in Kathar Basha Endra Muthuramalingam will soon begin to shoot for Sarpatta Parambarai 2 under the direction of film maker Pa Ranjith in which he will be romancing actress Dushara Vijayan. Actor Gautham Karthik who was last seen in August 16 1947 is gearing up for the release of his next venture titled Criminal directed by storyteller Dhakshina Moorthy Ramar in which he has shared screen space with veteran actor Sarath Kumar. Apart from this movie, the actor has his long-delayed flicks Theemaithaan Vellum helmed by Santhosh Peter Jayakumar, and Sippai scripted by director Saravanan in which he has collaborated with actresses Lakshmi Menon, and Vibha Natarajan in the box waiting to see the light of day. On the other hand, actress Manju Warrier who had her last outing in Tamil in Thunivu is currently busy shooting for a Hindi film christened Amriki Pandit crafted by Kalpesh Garg in which she will be co starring with actor R Madhavan, and for a Malayalam venture titled Footage filmed by storyteller Saiju Sreedharan in which she will be sharing screen space with actors Visakh Nair, and Gayathri Ashok.
