Versatile star Sathyaraj entertained audiences earlier this year in the comedy drama Baby and Baby helmed by director B Yuvaraj with actors Jai, Yogi Babu, and Pragya Nagra in lead roles. The Singapore Saloon actor is now getting ready for the release of his next project titled Madras Matinee. He plays a writer named Jyoti Ramaya in the entertainer. Story teller Karthikeyan Mani has penned and directed the flick. Actor Kaali Venkat has portrayed a pivotal role in the venture. Actress Roshni Haripriyan of Garudan fame will be seen in the female lead role. The flick which went on floors at the beginning of last year has now been wrapped, and is in the post production stage. The production house has announced that the drama will be out in theaters worldwide on 23rd of May.
The makers have now released the titled story video of the movie on social media. Taking to their official X handle, the production team of Dream Warrior Pictures shared a special poster from the flick along with a link to the title story video of Madras Matinee and wrote, “TITLE STORY REVEALED! Forty seconds of the odd title story clip of Madras Matinee starts with the voiceover of actor Sathyaraj, “As I age, I feel like a teenager. That is the reason why I write science fiction. All these can be written, but to write about the middle class . . . morning Pongal, afternoon sambar, night two idlies, college, marriage. Where is the joy and adventure in a middle class family’s life?” While he talks, we are introduced to characters in the film through illustrations in the pages of a book. Beside Sathyaraj, Kaali Venkat, and Roshni Haripriyan, the casting crew of Madras Matinee also has actors George Maryan, Vishva, Sunil Sukhada, Geetha Kailasam, Shelly, Archana Chandhoke, Bhanupriya, Chaams, and Madhumitha essaying various supporting roles.
Music director K C Balasarangan has been roped in to oversee the musical division of the project. Cinematographer G K Anand has operated the camera for the movie. Editor Satheesh Kumar Samuski has been brought onboard to bring coherence to the drama. Art director Jacki has designed sets for the film. Stunt master Stunner Shyam has choreographed action blocks for the entertainer. Madras Matinee is bankrolled by M K Keyan under the production label Madras Motion Pictures. S R Prakash Babu and S R Prabhu will be presenting the film under their banner house Dream Warrior Pictures.
On the professional front, actor Sathyaraj is eagerly anticipating the release of his future ventures Coolie scripted by story teller Lokesh Kanagaraj in which he has shared screen space with actors Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Upendra, & Shruti Haasan, Vaa Vaathiyaar crafted by director Nalan Kumarasamy in which he has featured alongside actors Karthi, Krithi Shetty, & Shilpa Manjunath, Valli Mayil filmed by Suseenthiran in which he has co starred with actors Vijay Antony & Faria Abdullah, Jackson Durai 2 directed by Dharanidharan in which he has collaborated with his son Sibiraj, and Rowdy Baby crafted by J M Raja Saravanan in which he will be seen alongside actresses Hansika Motwani, Sonia Agarwal, and Meena.
