Actress Kajal Aggarwal had her last outing in Tamil in the comedy drama Comali which hit the screens back in 2019 under the direction of story teller Pradeep Ranganathan with actor Jayam Ravi in the lead role. The entertainer opened to mixed reviews from critics and audience alike. Despite that, it managed to do a decent business at the box office. Nearly after three years, actress Kajal Aggarwal is all set to return to Tamil cinema with the horror comedy Ghosty in which she has played the lead part. Veteran director and actor K. S. Ravi Kumar has essayed the antagonist role. Director Kalyaan Kumar has written and directed the drama. The entertainer which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony a long while back, is finally ready for release.
Now the production house has dropped the trailer of the venture on social media along with its release date. Ghosty is slated to hit the theaters on 17th of March this year. Music director Sam C S has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter account, the musician unveiled the trailer of Ghosty and wrote, “It’s an out and out fun, frolic, and entertaining horror ride with Ghosty. Nearly two and a half minute trailer cuts open to a scientist conducting an experiment. It then cuts to actor Yogi Babu brokering a deal with Kajal Aggarwal, “Madam we are in a heroine hunt for our film. If you give us your date, we will get you one crore as your payment. But there is a condition, you must act in our short film, for that I will give you 200 INR.” The actress, seen in a police uniform, asks, “Who are you people?” For which Yogi Babu jokingly says, “We are assistants of Mani Ratnam.” The trailer is split in two parts, the first half moves as a crime drama where actress Kajal Aggarwal comes around as an action cop firing at criminals. The second half derails to a horror genre where we have spooky elements and a group of people trying to deal with a dead body.
Apart from actors Kajal Aggarwal, and K. S. Ravi Kumar, the casting division of the movie has actors Yogi Babu, Redin Kingsley, Thangadurai, Jagan, Oorvasi, Sathyan, Adukalam Naren, Manobala, Motta Rajendran, Mayilsamy, Saminaathan, Sriman, Devadarshini, Suresh Menon, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam, Livingston, Santhana Bharathi, Mathan Babu, and Radhika Sarathkumar in various other supporting roles. Music director Sam C S has composed music for the entertainer. Cinematographer Jacob Rathinaraj has done cinematography for the drama. Editor Vijay Velukutty has handled the editing department of the flick. Art director Gopi Anand has designed the background for the venture. Stunt master Billa Jagan has choreographed action blocks for the project. The movie is bankrolled by Jayaram G and Sudhan under the production company Seed Pictures.
On the work front, actress Kajal Aggarwal who was last seen in Tamil in Comali is currently busy shooting for the sequel of Indian under the direction of filmmaker Shankar in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Kamal Hassan, and for her Hindi drama christened Shootout at Byculla directed by Sanjay Gupta in which she will be seen alongside actors John Abraham, and Emraan Hashmi. Apart from these projects, the actress has Karungaapiyam helmed by storyteller Deekay in which she has collaborated with actresses Regina Cassandra, Janani Iyer, and Raiza Wilson, and a Hindi film Uma crafted by Tathagata Singha in which she has co starred with actor Tinnu Anand in the post production stage getting fine tuned for release.
