You all must have heard of actor Trisha Krishnan. But the best thing about her is not only her acting skills but she is the first South Indian actor who has been granted with the status of UNICEF celebrity advocate which is highly prestigious and is a matter of pride. This was done as to signify the celebration of World Children’s Day on 14th of November. She will be responsible for stating all the rights of children and putting forward their problems and things that can be done to improve their status. And by children, it means adolescents and young people too.
When asked about her feelings on receiving this status, Trisha said that she is extremely honored that she has been trusted with such a status and that she will give her full commitments on working towards the welfare of children especially the ones in Kerala and Tamil Nadu. She also vowed to work with the government with the aim of making a Tamil Nadu that would never have to face malnutrition and open defecation problems. The ceremony had many children attending to it and Trisha spoke with 50 children and during that period she stressed on important matters like education of girl children and elimination of child labour.
