Actor and politician Udhayanidhi Stalin had his last outing in the likes of Kannai Nambathey which hit the screens under the direction of Mu Maran with actress Aathmika in the female lead part. The drama was tagged with negative reviews by critics and audiences. Hence, it failed to draw footfalls to the theaters. The Psycho actor has now moved on, and is getting ready for the release of his upcoming entertainer christened Maamannan. Actress Keerthy Suresh has depicted the female lead role in the film. Director Mari Selvaraj has penned and helmed the flick. The entertainer which went on floors with a small pooja ceremony some time ago is now done and dusted ready to hit the theaters on 29th of this month.
The production unit has now unveiled the trailer of the movie on social media. Actress Keerthy Suresh herself has shared the trailer. Taking to her official twitter page, the actress shared a poster from the flick along with a link to the trailer of Maamannan, and wrote, “இங்க மதம் அடிக்குதா சாதி அடிக்குதா பணம் அடிக்குதானு நாம யோசிச்சோம்னா நமக்கு பைத்தியமே பிடிச்சிரும்! Three-minute trailer video opens to the voiceover of actor Vadivelu, “I might have been singing the same song. But I will sing it as long as I live. I shall rip out my gut, transform it into a lute and make its strings echo in every street. Ears that can hear the truth . . . I will keep seeking.” Following which we have actor Fahadh Faasil mouthing, “Remember the struggle we went through to arrive at this position and power? All that’s nothing to you?” The scene then cuts to a character saying, “Don’t be scared, sir! We’re with you! Why are you scared?” To which actor Vadivelu responds, “Quite! He’s beating up kids! He’s out for blood! Do you want us all to end up like him?” Then we have a scene where actress Keerthy Suresh enunciates, “Try figuring out if money or caste or religion drives them, you’ll only go insane!” The trailer has enjoyed a great reception among audiences, and has clocked millions of views in a short period.
Besides actors Udhayanidhi Stalin, and Keerthy Suresh, the casting division of the flick has veteran actor Vadivelu and Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil portraying vital supporting parts. Music director A R Rahman has handled musical instruments for the flick. Cinematographer Theni Eswar has cranked the camera for the movie. Editor Selva R K has been roped in to trim the film. Art director Kumar Gangappan has erected sets for the venture. Action director Dhilip Subbarayan has choreographed action moves for the project. The entertainer is produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin along with Shenbaga Moorthy and R Arjun Durai for the production company Red Giant Movies.
On the work front, actor Fahadh Faasil who had his last outing in Tamil in Vikram is busy with his upcoming Telugu flick Pushpa 2: The Rule helmed by director Sukumar in which he will be collaborating with actor Allu Arjun, and for Production No 1 under the direction of story teller Jithu Madhavan in which he will be co starring with actress Nazriya Nazim. Besides these projects, the actor has Paattu scripted by Alphonse Puthren in which he has shared screen space with actress Nayanthara, Hanuman Gear crafted by director Sudheesh Sankar in which he has associated with actor Koushik Mahata, and Dhoomam filmed by Pawan Kumar in which he has romanced actress Aparna Balamurali in different stages of post-production getting fine tuned for release. On the other hand, actress Keerthy Suresh who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Saani Kaayidham is currently busy shooting for her next film Siren helmed by director Antony Bhagyaraj in which she will be romancing actor Jayam Ravi, for Raghu Thatha directed by story teller Suman Kumar in which she will be collaborating with actor M S Bhaskar, for Revolver Rita filmed by K Chandru. Apart from these entertainers, the actress has a Telugu drama Bhola Shankar crafted by Meher Ramesh in which she will be seen alongside actors Chiranjeevi and Tamannaah in the post production stage getting refined for release.
