Actor Vaibhav is a talented artist with an exceptional comical sense. He is one of very few actors in Tamil cinema who can make even a bad joke land well. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since he has had any solid commercial success. The Goa actor was last seen on screens in the horror comedy Kaatteri which hit the screens under the direction of film maker Deekay with actresses Sonam Bajwa, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, and Aathmika as female leads. The entertainer garnered negative reviews from the critics and audience. As the result did not fair in the box office. At present, actor Vaibhav is gearing up for the release of his upcoming project titled Buffoon. The comedy drama is helmed by director Ashok Veerappan.
Now, the production house has dropped the trailer of the flick on social media. Director and best friend of actor Vaibhav, Venkat Prabhu has launched the trailer of the film. Taking to his official twitter handle, the storyteller shared the trailer of Buffoon with the caption, “Here is the trailer of Buffoon. Action packed thriller drama. Watch the movie in theaters from 23rd Sep. Best wishes team. A Karthik Subbaraj Presentation. A Santhosh Narayanan musical. A Ashok Veerappan film.” Here is the post made by the director.

The trailer opens with a character asking Vaibhav, “Kumara, our photos will be published in tomorrow’s paper, isn’t it? Everyone will recognize us. Let’s go back to our village in the afternoon?” The scene cuts to actor Vaibhav performing as a stage artist. Following it, we are given a glimpse of heated politicians making their moves. From the trailer one can infer that actor Vaibhav is preparing to go abroad to work. But just before it he gets embroiled in some sort of crime, and the cops bring him under their radar which jeopardizes his desire to work abroad. Even technically Buffoon looks sound with a murky lighting flavoring the cinematography and thumping background score.
In Buffoon actor Vaibhav has gone out of his comfort zone from comedy, and has tried to play a serious character. His makeover and appearance look perfect for the part he is portraying. The trailer promises a gripping crime drama. It is sure to engineer high expectations on the drama. Even the teaser of the flick enjoyed a great reception among the audience, and has clocked millions of views till date. The entertainer will be hitting the theaters on 23rd of this month.
Apart from actors Vaibhav and Anagha L. K, Buffoon has actors Joju George, Naren, Moonar Ramesh, Anthakudi Ilaiyaraja, Tamizh, Madurai M. P. Vishwanathan, and Adukalam Jeyabalan playing various other supporting roles. Music director Santhosh Narayanan has composed the music for the flick. Cinematographer Dinesh Purushothaman has been behind the camera for the drama. The editing division of the movie will be taken care of by editor Vetre Krishnan. The project is funded by Kaarthekeyen Santhanam under the banner house Stone Bench Films along with Sudhan Sundaram and G Jayaram of production house Passion Studios.
On the work front, actor Vaibhav who was last seen on screens in the horror comedy Kaatteri is currently busy shooting for his upcoming venture christened Aalambana under the direction of story teller Pari K Vijay in which he will be sharing the screen space with actress Parvati Nair.
