Actor Vaibhav lastly entertained audiences in a supporting role in actor/politician Vijay’s GOAT – The Greatest Of All Time filmed by Venkat Prabhu with actress Sneha as female lead. The Hello Naan Pei Pesuren actor is now gearing up for the release of his next dark comedy drama Perusu in which he has played the lead role. Sri Lankan director Ilango Ram will be launching his career in Tamil cinema with this film. Writer Balaji Jayaraman has penciled dialogues and aided in shaping the flow of the script. Actress Chandini Tamilarasan of Naan Rajavaga Pogiren fame and popular social media content creator N M Niharika have essayed the female lead roles in the entertainer. The venture will be released worldwide in theaters on 14th of March this year.
Earlier this month the production unit had dropped the teaser of the drama on social media. They have now shared the trailer of the flick. Taking to his official X handle, director Karthik Subbaraj unveiled the trailer of Perusu and wrote, “Epdi ipdi??? A Clean Adult Family Entertainer. . . Perusu Trailer is here. Perusu from March 14th only in theaters.” Here is the post made by the story teller.
Nearly two minute trailer of “Perusu” opens to a close-up shot of a dazed Vaibhav asking, “How is this possible?” Character played by Sunil responds, “How do I know?” In a funny quip he informs actress N M Niharika through a call, “My father who was speaking to me until yesterday is so more.” She starts crying, then he tells her, “Not your father, my father.” She has a sigh of relief. In a scene we see actor Vaibhav reprimanding a boy, “Are you drinking in an age where you have to focus on your studies?” Actor Bala Saravanan retorts, “We quit education to drink.” Perusu is the official Tamil remake of the superhit Sri Lankan drama Tentigo. It is a story about two brothers who are faced with discomfiture after they find their dead father with an active erection. Their attempt to keep it a secret and resolve the issue before the funeral makes the rest of the story.
Star cast of the entertainer also includes actors Sunil, Redin Kingsley, Bala Saravanan, Karunakaran, Sathya Thilakam, VTV Ganesh, and Deepa Shankar. Musician Arun Raj has scored music for songs in the venture. Music director K S Sundaramurthy has composed the background score of the film. Cinematographer Sathya Thilakam is behind the lens for the flick. Editor Sooriya Kumaraguru has been brought on board to oversee the editing division of the movie. Art director Sunil Villuwamangalath has fashioned the background for the venture. Action master T G Dilip Kumar has choreographed action moves for the flick. The movie is bankrolled by S Kaarthekeyen under his production label Ember Light Studios in collaboration with Harman Baweja under the production banner Baweja Studios Ltd, and Hiranya Perera for the production house Silent Frames Productions.
On the professional front, actor Vaibhav will soon have successive outings in the fantasy drama Aalambana directed by debutant director Pari K Vijay in which he has co starred with actress Parvati Nair, and the comedy heist drama Chennai City Gangsters helmed by Vikram Rajeshwar & Arun Keshav in which he has starred alongside actress Athulya Ravi of Murungakkai Chips fame. Apart from these projects, he has his long-delayed flick Ace Raja Rani Jackie And Joker directed by Anil Sunkara in which he has associated with actors Shaam, Vimala Raman, and Sneha Ullal in the box office awaiting release.
