Actor Vasanth Ravi had his last outing in the action crime film Rocky which hit the screens under the direction of Arun Matheswaran with veteran director Bharathiraja in the antagonist part. The drama drew critical acclamations from critics and audiences. Unfortunately, it had a bad commercial business. Now, the actor has moved on, and is currently gearing up for the release of his Tamil Telugu bilingual film titled Asvins. The movie will mark the debut of actress Saras Menon, daughter of Rajiv Menon in Tamil cinema as female lead. Newbie story teller Tarun Teja has written and directed the drama. The venture which went on floors some time ago was shot predominantly in a remote bungalow in London.
The production house has now shared the trailer of the drama on social media along with its release date. Asvins is all set to hit the theaters on 23rd of June. Actor Arya has unveiled the trailer. Taking to his official twitter handle, the actor dropped a couple of posters from the film along with a link to the trailer of Asvins, and wrote, “There is always a demon sitting right next to you! Asvins trailer out now! Tamil Telugu. Experience it in cinemas near you on June 23!” Here is the post made by the actor.

One-and-a-half-minute trailer cut opens to a bird’s eye view shot of a hairpin road with a voiceover, “What are we exactly going to do here?” Another voice responds, “Black tourism is when people travel to places historically associated with death and tragedy. People pay and stay in such places to have an adventurous experience.” In the midst of the trailer actor Vasanth Ravi says, “Behind all this there is some plan that we could not decipher.” The trailer has enjoyed good reception, and has set high expectations on the venture. Earlier talking about the film to a leading daily, actor Vasanth Ravi said, “After Rocky I was looking for a script that would be a stark contrast to Rocky. Something like a breezy romance drama. I never contemplated doing a horror flick. I do not have much interest in the horror genre either. But when I was approached by Tarun Teja with the story. I was very impressed. I felt I might not get such a raw horror story again. It was well in line with my idea of a horror entertainer.” Stating about his experience on shooting for the project, he said, “Asvins is set in London. We shot in the freezing winter season. The temperature was hovering between -40 C and -50 C.”
Besides actors Vasanth Ravi and Saraswathi Menon, the casting division of the movie has actors Vimala Raman, Muralidaran, Udhaya Deep, and Simran Pareek in various other supporting parts. Debutant music director Vijay Siddharth has composed music for the flick. Cinematographer A. K. Edwin Sakay has shouldered camera for the drama. Editor Venkat Raajen has been brought on board to edit the flick. Art director Don Bala has designed the background for the project. The entertainer is bankrolled by B. V. S. N. Prasad for the production label Sri Venkateswara Cine Chitra along with Praveen Daniel for the banner house Golden Arrow Studios.
On the work front, actor Vasanth Ravi who was last seen in Rocky is getting ready for the release of his next project titled Jailer directed by Nelson Dilip Kumar in which he will be seen in a supporting role alongside actor Rajinikanth. The actor is currently busy shooting for his upcoming venture christened Weapon under the direction of Guhan Senniappan in which he will be sharing screen space with veteran actor Sathyaraj.
