Actor Vemal recently had a release in the digital space via the web series Om Kali Jai Kali directed by storyteller Ramu Chellappa with Big Boss fame actress Pavani Reddy in the female lead role. The series opened to mixed reviews from critics and is yet to garner the attention of audiences. The Deiva Machan actor had starred in the superhit comedy movie Desingu Raja which hit the screens back in 2013. He is now gearing up for the release of the sequel of the film. Director S Ezhil, who helmed the first installment of the flick, has penned and directed the sequel as well. Actress Bindu Madhavi, who played the female lead in the first part, has been replaced by actress Pujita Ponnada of Jolly O Gymkhana fame. The project which went on floors last year has been wrapped and is in the post production stage.
The makers have now released a special poster from the film and have announced a release window. Desingu Raja 2 is set to hit theaters in the summer of 2025. Taking to his official X profile, actor Vemal himself dropped the special poster from Desingu Raja 2 and captioned it, “Let this Eid bring more happiness and prosperity into your hearts and homes|! Team Desingu Raja 2 wishes you all a Happy Eid. A Super-Duper Summer Kondattam on the way!” Here is the post made by the actor.

The special poster shared by the actor has him dressed as a cop sitting alongside a bunch of cops with guns in their hands. Cook With Comali fame Pugazh is seen in a woman getup. Apart from Vemal and Pujita Ponnada, the casting unit of Desingu Raja 2 also has actors Singampuli, Sneha Gupta, Cook With Comali fame Pugazh, Ravi Maria, Harshitha, Robo Shankar, Redin Kingsley, Chaams, Madhumitha, Vinoth, Muthu, Swaminathan, Sumathi G, and Motta Rajendran portraying various supporting characters.
Music director Vidyasagar has been trusted with the musical division of the entertainer. Cinematographer R Selva has taken care of the cinematography division of the entertainer. Editor Anand Linga Kumar has been brought on board to oversee the editing department of the flick. Art director Siva Sankar has engineered sets for the flick. Stunt master Fire Karthik has designed an action block for the venture. Desingu Raja 2 is bankrolled by R Balakumar in collaboration with P Ravichandran under the production company Infinity Creations.
On the professional front, actor Vemal will next be seen on big screens in the upcoming film Paramasivan Fathima directed by story teller Esakki Karvannan in which he has shared screen space with actress Chaya Devi Kannan. The Thudikkum Karangal actor is currently busy shooting for his next project titled Belladonna crafted by story teller Santhosh Babu Muthusamy. Apart from these films, the Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai star has three of his long-delayed ventures Sandakkari directed by Madhesh in which he has worked with actress Shriya Saran, Enga Pattan Sothu helmed by Sargunam in which he has performed alongside actress Anicka Vikhraman, and Lucky filmed by director Prasanth Pandiyaraj in the box awaiting release.
