Actor Vemal had a release earlier this month in the comedy film Badava scripted by filmmaker K V Nanda with actress Shrita Rao in the female lead role. The entertainer was initially released on a few screens. But later gained more screen additions. The Pulivaal actor is now gearing up for a release in the digital space via his upcoming web series Om Kali Jai Kali. Story teller Ramu Chellappa has inked and helmed the series. Actor and writer Kumaravel has assisted in devising the screenplay of the series. Big Boss fame actress Pavani Reddy, who has portrayed many supporting roles in Kollywood is set to make her debut as a lead heroine in the venture.
The production house had recently launched the teaser of the series on social media, and promised to announce the release date shortly. As promised, they have now unveiled the trailer of the drama along with its release date. Om Kali Jai Kali will be available to stream exclusively on Jio Hotstar from March 28th. Taking to their official X profile, Jio Hotstar Tamil OTT platform dropped the trailer of Om Kali Jai Kali and worded, “The Wait is Over! Trailer of Om Kali Jai Kali is here. One-minute odd trailer of Om Kali Jai Kali opens to a woman expressing her concern to actor Vemal about a murder, “Do you guys even realize you just killed an MLA candidate? His gang includes AJ, Raasadurai, Thamburaan. They all work for him.” He replies, “Now I realize God stands with me.” She then warns him, “By now, Raasadurai must have sent his men to your place to kill you all.” Following which we witness an animated village festival where actors garbed as village deities perform in a ritual. The shot cuts to a gangster informing his boss, “Nila has found refuge in Thirunelveli in a village called Vanadhesam.” He responds in rage, “I will burn Vanadhesam to the ground and reduce it to nothing!” The trailer ends with a woman praying to Vemal, dressed as a village deity, “We are all alone in this world. Please watch over my child.” He assures her, “Don’t you worry! I will always be with you. I promise to follow and protect you.”
The star cast of Om Kali Jai Kali also includes actors VJ Maheswari, Pugazh, R S Sivaji, Dhivya Duraisamy, G M Kumar, Prema, Seema Biswas, Kumaravel, Ganja Karuppu, Queency, and V I S Jayapalan. The technical side of the flick has music composer and son of Ilayaraja, Karthik Raja handling the musical division of the project. Cinematographer Rajesh Shukla has operated camera gears for the drama. Editor K L Praveen has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the series. Art director Shanmugaraja has erected sets for the drama. Stuntman K Rajasekhar has choreographed action moves. Om Kali Jai Kali is backed by the Jio Hotstar OTT platform.
On the professional front, actor Vemal is eagerly anticipating the release of Paramasivan Fathima crafted by Esakki Karvannan in which he has featured alongside actress Chaya Devi Kannan. The Netru Indru actor is currently busy shooting for his next projects Desingu Raja 2 directed by story teller Ezhil in which he will be sharing screen space with actress Pujita Ponnada, and Belladonna helmed by director Santhosh Babu Muthusamy. Apart from these flicks, the Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai star has three of his long-delayed entertainers Sandakkari directed by Madhesh in which he will be seen alongside actress Shriya Saran, Enga Pattan Sothu helmed by Sargunam in which he has associated with actress Anicka Vikhraman, and Lucky scripted by storyteller Prasanth Pandiyaraj in the shelves awaiting a release date.
