Actor Vemal is steadily finding ways to regain his market in Tamil cinema. The Evanukku Engeyo Matcham Irukku actor had his last outing in Thudikkum Karangal crafted by Velu Doss with actress Misha Narang in the female lead role. The entertainer which was released last year had a bad run in the box office. The actor is now set to try and get back to winning ways with his upcoming drama Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai. Debutant filmmaker Micheal K Raja has written and directed the drama. Actor Karunas has essayed a pivotal part in the flick. The entertainer has entered the post production stage.
The makers have now officially announced the release date of the flick on social media. Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai will be out in theaters on 23rd of August. Taking to his official X profile, musician N R Raghunandan dropped a poster from the film and wrote, “Excited to announce the grand release of my next movie ‘Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai’! Starring Vemal and Karunas, directed by Micheal K Raja and produced by Siva Killari. Get ready for an unforgettable cinematic experience!” Here is the post made by the music director.

The production house unveiled the trailer of Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai in May of this year. It had actor Vemal as a hearse driver getting entangled in a complex situation on his journey to deliver a dead body at a funeral. Actor Karunas was seen as a street theater artist, to whom Vemal offers a hitchhike, keeps narrating stories through their ride. Earlier speaking about the movie to a leading daily, storyteller Micheal K Raja revealed, “Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai will explore intricate human nature and emotions. Though the film is predicated on a serious premise, it will have a lot of situational comedy scenes. I did not want to write a separate comedy track as I felt it would disturb the nub of the drama. I am confident the movie will offer a brilliant experience to its audience.”
Casting unit of Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai includes Deepa Shankar, Pavan, Aadukalam Naren, Aruldoss, Vela Ramamoorthy, and Charles Vinoth. Music director N R Raghunandan has composed music for the drama. Cinematographer Demel Xavier Edwards has been behind the lens. The editing department has been handled by editor M Thiyagarajan. Art director Surendaran has erected sets for the movie. Stunt master Metro Mahesh has choreographed action moves. Pogumidam Vegu Thooramillai is produced by Siva Killari under his production company Shark 9 Pictures.
On the work front, actor Vemal will next be seen on screens in Sir crafted by Bose Venkat. Actress Chaya Devi Kannan has played the love interest of the actor. He is currently busy shooting for his upcoming flick Desingu Raja 2 under the direction of Ezhil. Actress Pujita Ponnada has been roped in to depict the female lead in the entertainer. Apart from these projects, the Kanni Raasi star has many flicks on shelves delayed for release.
