Actor Vetri Sudley who shot to fame with his critically acclaimed dramas 8 Thottakkal, and Jiivi had his last outing in the likes of the action thriller Memories which hit the screens under directorial of storyteller Syam Praveen with actress Parvathy Arun in the female lead role. The flick did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Hence, it did not have a good run in the box office. The Jothi actor has now put that behind him, and is getting ready for the release of his next Tamil Malayalam bilingual movie christened Bumper. Actress Shivani Narayanan has depicted the female lead part.
Filmmaker M. Selvakumar, former associate of director Muthaiah has penned and helmed the entertainer. The venture which went on floors some time ago with a small pooja ceremony was shot in and around the localities of Thoothukudi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Sabarimala. The entertainer is now done and dusted ready to hit the screens on 7th of July this year. The audio launch event of the film took place recently. The production house unveiled the trailer of Bumper in the event. Now it is out on social media.
Nearly two and a half minute trailer cut opens to a man talking to Vetri Sudley and his gang, “Puli Pandi, I am saying for the good of all of you, you have to commit a murder.” Following which we are presented with few people carrying around weapons casually. Then we have a comedy quip where a frustrated loan shark played by G P Muthu says, “Collection is dull here. Perhaps, I should quit lending business, and go beg in front of Tiruchendur temple.” Comedian Tiger Thangadurai retorts with, “Even that is a good income, no?” The scene then cuts to a police officer asking Vetri Sudley to remove his Ayyappan rosary. The act stirs up religious tension with a character asking, “Mr. Benjamin, how can you come in boots and arrest the devotees of lord Ayyappan. Will you turn a blind eye if it had occurred in a church or a mosque.” The trailer then gives us a glimpse of events around Kerala lottery before proceeding to present a romantic stretch. We have a shot where actor Vetri Sudley throws a threat, “If you think about conning me, I will chop you into pieces.” The trailer has garnered attention of the audience, and has set high expectations on the venture.
Bumper is said to be based on Kerala bumper lottery tickets. Besides actors Vetri Sudley, and Shivani Narayanan, the casting department of the venture has actors Hareesh Peradi, G P Muthu, Tiger Thangadurai, and Kavitha Bharathi in various other supporting parts. The musical division of the flick has been handed over to music director Govind Vasantha. Cinematographer Vinothrathinasamy has been behind lens for the drama. Editor Mu Kasi Vishwanathan has been roped into trim the project. Art director Supender PI has erected sets for the entertainer. Action director Miracle Micheal has choreographed action blocks for the entertainer. The film is bankrolled by S Thiagaraja along with T Anandajothi for the production label Vetha Pictures.
On the work front, actor Vetri Sudley who was last seen in Memories is currently busy shooting for his upcoming film christened Kannagi crafted by story teller Yashwanth Kishore in which he will be collaborating with actresses Keerthi Pandian, and Vidya Pradeep, for Theenkirai directed by C Sivam Prakash Raghavadass in which he will be co starring with actress Aadhira Panilakshmi, for an untitled project under the direction of Ashraf in which he will be seen alongside actress Shilpa Manjunath, and for a drama directed by Shaams. Apart from these movies, the actor has Iravu helmed by director Jagadeesan Subu in which he has shared screen space with actress Aria Selvaraj, and Red Sandal crafted by director Guru Ramaanujam in which he has romanced actress Diya Mayuri in different stages of post production shaping up for release.
