Actor Vetri has forged a reputation for himself in Tamil cinema as someone who picks interesting scripts. Some of his projects might have compromised quality of craft due to their shoestring budget. But the story line always lies on the unique side. The Red Sandal Wood actor had his last outing earlier this year in the anthology movie Adharma Kadhaigal scripted by storyteller Kamaraj Vel. He will soon have yet another release in the upcoming entertainer Aalan. Filmmaker R Siva who had previously delivered Karotiyin Kadhali, has penciled and helmed the drama. German origin actress Mathura and Malayalam actress Anusithara of Pathu Thala fame have essayed pivotal roles in the entertainer. The film has been shot in and around the surroundings of Chennai, Kodaikanal, Puducherry, Kasi, and Rishikesh. An official update regarding the date of release is expected to be made in the coming days.

The production team has now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media. Two minute trailer of Aalan opens to an aerial view of Kasi and Rishikesh. Then we witness actor Vetri in the getup of a sage of sorts take a dip in a holy site. What is the base ideology of a spiritualist?” There is a shot where an old man enlightens young Vetri, “Education will only be helpful to you. But writing will be helpful to the world.” Aalan is a coming-of-age story about a man who aspires to be a writer from a young age and his journey through various tragedies in life and the experiences he gains from wandering through many religious sites in India.

Apart from Vetri, Mathura, and Anusithara, the casting unit of Aalan has actors Hareesh Peradi, Karunakaran, Vivek Prasanna, and Aruvi Madan Kumar portraying vital supporting characters.
