Two of the greatest superstars of Indian cinema Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are about to set the screens on fire on 10th of October with their upcoming release Vettaiyan. The flick marks the 170th film milestone for actor Rajinikanth, while it marks the debut of Amitabh Bachchan in Kollywood as Sathyadev. Both the stars had previously shared screens 33 years ago in the Bollywood entertainer Hum. Story teller T J Gnanavel of Jai Bhim fame has written and crafted the venture. Malayalam actress Manju Warrier will be portraying the part of Thara in the flick.
The production house had recently announced that the trailer of the movie will be launched on 2nd of October. As promised they have now dropped the trailer of the flick on social media. Taking to their official X account, Lyca Productions shared a poster from the venture along with a link to the trailer of Vettaiyan and captioned it, “Hunter Vantaar choodu da! Vettaiyan trailer is out now. The hunt begins. Vettaiyan releasing on 10th October in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada!” Here is the post made by the production unit.
Nearly three minutes of trailer cut opens to a protest where people fume to apprehend criminals, “In this country women are not safe. But scoundrels are safe. We must encounter crooks like this.” The scene cuts to a police officer instructing his team, “Do anything necessary to arrest the accused.” The situation goes out of hand and the public pressure mounts. Actor Rajinikanth is introduced. He is assigned the responsibility to encounter the accused in a week. But he says, “No need sir. One week is a long time. The department will be honored in three days.” We then have Amitabh Bachchan enter the picture with his philosophy, “Justice delayed is, justice denied. Justice hurried, is justice buried.” We are then introduced to other characters in the drama. It ends with actor Rajinikanth swearing that nobody can save the antagonist from him. The trailer has managed to clock millions of views in just a few hours. The expectations on the project are massive.
Besides actors Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, and Manju Warrier, star cast of Vettaiyan has actors Kishore, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, Ritika Singh, Rana Daggubati, Ramesh Thilak, Abhirami, Rakshan, Rao Ramesh, Rohini, and G M Sundar. After their chartbuster albums in Petta, Darbar, and Jailer, musician Anirudh Ravichander has once again teamed up with superstar Rajinikanth for Vettaiyan. The makers have released two Songs christened ‘Manasilaayo’ and ‘Hunter Vantaar’ from the album which have entered the loop list of many fans. Cinematographer S R Kathir has been responsible for the cinematography division. Editing task of the film has been assigned to editor Philomin Raj. Art director K Kathir has fashioned sets for the movie. Action masters Anbu Arivu duo has choreographed action blocks. The drama is bankrolled by Subaskaran Allirajah for his production banner Lyca Productions.
On the professional front, currently actor Rajinikanth is busy shooting for his next film christened Coolie under the direction of Lokesh Kanagaraj. Actors Shruti Haasan and Sathyaraj have been signed in to essay vital roles in the movie.
