Music director turned actor Vijay Antony has a track record of picking up unique projects. The Naan actor was last seen on screens in the action-thriller Agni Siragugal which hit the theaters under the direction of Naveen with actor Arun Vijay as the antagonist. The entertainer made with a huge budget did not live up to the expectations of the audience. Hence tanked. But the actor has moved on, and is currently getting ready for the release of his next movie titled Raththam. Story teller C S Amudhan of Thamizh Padam fame has helmed the flick. Actresses Ramya Nambeesan, Nandita Swetha, and Mahima Nambiar have essayed the female lead roles in the film. The movie which went on floors a while back was wrapped a couple of months ago.
Now, the production house has dropped the teaser of the drama on social media. Taking to their official twitter handle, the production company shared a poster from the movie and wrote, “Powerful teaser of Raththam hits 1 million + views & trending.” Here is the post made by the production unit.

Interestingly, directors Venkat Prabhu, Vetrimaaran, and Pa Panjith have narrated the teaser in parts. The one-minute odd teaser opens with director Venkat Prabhu saying, “The only thing many of us wish for is a simple, peaceful life. When we make it professionally and personally, we would joyfully live our lives and move on.” Film maker Vetrimaaran takes on from there, “Not everyone ends up having the peaceful life they expect. In a second, our lives can turn upside down. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, the gods we pray to, the languages we speak. Our own identities can be weaponized against us. Because we do not have the authority to decide who deserves a peaceful life. But at the same time, there is no need to blindly follow someone else’s rules, with folded hands and sealed lips. Here, we need to fight to have even an ordinary life. That fight has the power to change the history of a city, of a country why, even the world.” The scene cuts to actress Nandita Swetha questioning Vijay Antony, “Tell me sir. What were you doing in your last job? Taking care of horses.” The teaser ends with the voice over, “In the end, such situations and our society teach us the same thing. Screw the shit! Strike back!”
