From time to time out of the blue a debutant film maker barges his/her way into Tamil cinema and takes the audience by surprise with their impressive script and craft. Cinematographer turned director Vijay Milton’s sophomore project Goli Soda with four teenagers Kishore, Pakoda Pandi, Murugesh, and Sree Raam in lead, was one such stellar creation. The entertainer which got released as an underdog film back in 2014 had a great run in the box office. It not only garnered critical acclamations but earned a huge fan following as well. The vehement reception prompted Vijay Milton to come up with Goli Soda 2, the second installment in the franchise in 2018. Now Vijay Milton has cooked the third part in the franchise as a web series which is said to be a sequel to the first part and a prequel to the second installment. He has retained most of the artists from his first part while adding stars like Shaam, Cheran, and Ramya Nambeesan to the cast. The series is currently in post-production.
The makers have now unveiled the teaser of the drama on social media. Taking to their official X account, Disney + Hotstar Tamil team unveiled the teaser of Goli Soda Rising and wrote, “Aachi mess pullainga vanthutanga pa! Nearly fifty seconds of teaser cut introduces us to all the characters that are set to drive the plot. It opens to the bustling Koyambedu market then gives us a few glimpses of violent attacks and murders. Then we have a shot of Kishore, Pakoda Pandi, Murugesh, and Sree Raam standing adjacent to each other carrying an empty glass bottle in hand trying to defend themselves. It ends with actor Kishore’s character saying, “Whatever happens, we will stay together.” Goli Soda Rising will be released in languages Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Hindi, and Marathi. The streaming date of the series is yet to be fixed.
Apart from Shaam, Cheran, and Ramya Nambeesan, Goli Soda Rising’s cast has actors Abhirami, Pugazh, Avantika Mishra, Seetha, Ammu Abhirami, R K Vijay, Murugan, Bharath Sreeni, John Mahendran, Kishore, Pakoda Pandi, Murugesh, Sree Raam, Udhaya Raj, Imman Annachi, Kutty Mani, Swetha, Sujatha, and Madhusudhanan Rao essaying various supporting roles. Music director S N Arungiri has composed music for songs in the flick. Musician Simon K King has scored background music. Cinematographer R B Gurudev has cranked the camera for the movie. Editor K L Praveen has been bestowed with the responsibility to edit the entertainer. Action director Stunt Silva has choreographed action blocks. The project is funded by Ramesh Krishnamoorthy for the production label Global One Studios.
