Actor Vijay Sethupathi had his last outing in the family drama Maamanithan which was helmed by storyteller Seenu Ramasamy with actress Gayathrie in the female lead role. The project did not live up to the expectations of the audience, and fell flat in the box office. Now, the Soodhu Kavvum actor has moved on, and is gearing up for the release of his next flick titled DSP. Storyteller Ponram of Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam fame has directed the movie. Earlier this month, the production unit had released the first look poster of the flick on social media, which enjoyed a great reception among the aficionados of the star. The trailer of the entertainer was recently launched in a grand event by actor Kamal Hassan.
Now the production house has dropped the trailer of the flick on social media along with the release date. DSP is all set to hit the theaters on 2nd of December this year. Actor Vijay Sethupathi himself has shared the trailer. Taking to his official twitter page, the actor shared a poster from the flick and wrote, “Please watch the DSP trailer. A Ponram directorial. A D Imman musical. A Stone Benchers production.” Here is the post made by the story teller.

The two-minute odd trailer opens with a shot from under the car covering actor Vijay Sethupathi’s walk. While the voiceover goes, “Vascodagama unique name for a policeman.” The scene cuts to the aerial view giving us a glimpse of a car chase. Following which a character says, “To me it looks like you do not follow any rules.” Then we have the introduction of the actor gracing the scene riding a bullet with a thumping background score. Next, we have the heroine intro in a traditional way. Then we are shown few clips of their romance. Midway through we see actor Ilavarasu asking Vijay Sethupathi to clean up the city of the evil men who sent him in to hiding. Actor Vijay Sethupathi looks stunning in Khaki. Previously he had donned the uniform twice in Chekka Chivantha Vaanam directed by Mani Ratnam, and Sethupathi helmed by Arun Kumar. Both the films went on to be a blockbuster hit. Even DSP is more likely to join the list. The trailer is sure to create a massive expectation wave on the drama.
Besides actor Vijay Sethupathi, DSP has the 2018 Femina Miss India World winner Anukreethy Vas, making her debut as a lead heroine in Kollywood. The casting division of the flick also has actors Prabhakar, Ilavarasu, Deepa, Shivani Narayanan of Tamil Big Boss fame, and Pugazh of Cooku With Comali fame in various other supporting roles. Music director D Imman has handled the musical instruments for the drama. Cinematographer Dinesh Krishnan has been behind the lens for the movie. The editing division of the film has been handed over to editor Vivek Harshan. The entertainer is produced by Kaarthekeyan Santhanam under the banner house Stone Benchers.
On the work front, actor Vijay Sethupathi who was last seen on screens in Tamil in Maamanithan is currently busy shooting for his next Hindi film Jawan under the directorial of Atlee in which he will be collaborating with actors Shah Rukh Khan and Nayanthara, for Mumbaikar helmed by Santhosh Sivan, for Gandhi Talks filmed by Kishor Pandurang Belekar, and for Merry Christmas directed by Sriram Raghavan. Besides these ventures, the actor has Viduthalai directed by story teller Vetrimaaran in which he has shared the screen space with actor Soori, and his Tamil Telugu bilingual venture Michael directed by Ranjit Jeyakodi in which he will be seen alongside actor Sundeep Kishan in various stages of post-production shaping up for release.
