At the beginning of this year superstar Vijay flabbergasted everyone by floating his own political party named Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam and announced his arrival into Tamil Nadu political arena. He later publicized the flag and party anthem. The first party convene is set to take place on October 27. Parallelly, he is busy in the cinema as well. The Leo star had his last outing in GOAT – The Greatest Of All Time crafted by Venkat Prabhu with actress Meenakshi Chaudhary as female lead. GOAT was supposed to be his last project but he announced another venture tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. Story teller H Vinoth who helmed actor Ajith Kumar in Nerkonda Paarvai, Valimai, and Thunivu will be helming the film. Actress Pooja Hegde who previously worked with the actor in Beast has once again been paired against him. Actress Mamitha Baiju has been booked to play a crucial part in the drama.
The entertainer recently went on floors with a pooja ceremony held in Chennai. The production team has now shared a clip of the pooja ceremony on social media. Taking to their official X account, the production team dropped the video and captioned it, “Neenga ethirpathu kondirundha Poojai video idhoo. Shoot commences tomorrow.”
Thalapathy 69
Apart from Vijay, Pooja Hegde, and Mamitha Baiju, the star cast of Thalapathy 69 has Bollywood actor Bobby Deol of Animal fame playing antagonist, Priyamani, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Narain depicting various supporting parts. Music director Anirudh Ravichander has teamed up with actor Vijay for the fifth time following their chartbuster albums in Kaththi, Master, Beast, and Leo. Sathyan Sooryan has been trusted with the cinematography division. Editor Pradeep E Ragav has been roped in to take care of the editing department of the flick. Art director Selva Kumar will be erecting sets for the movie. Action director Anlarasu will be fashioning action moves. Thalapathy 69 is produced by Venkat K Narayana in association with Jagadish Palanisamy and Lohith N K under the home banner KVN Productions.
On the work front, actress Pooja Hegde will soon have an outing in Bollywood with Deva directed by storytellers Bobby and Sanjay in which she will be seen alongside actor Shahid Kapoor. The Mugamoodi actress is currently busy shooting for her upcoming venture tentatively christened Suriya 44 filmed by director Karthik Subbaraj in which she will be sharing screen space with actor Suriya. On the other hand, currently actress Mamitha Baiju is occupied in her next flick tentatively titled VV 21 scripted by Ramkumar in which she will be co starring with actor Vishnu Vishal.
