The making and evolution of Dhruva Natchathiram seems to be a story that is worth turning in to a drama. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon launched the venture for the first time back in the year 2013 with actors Suriya and Deepika Padukone as the lead stars. But due to creative difference with actor Suriya, the director shelfed the project. Then few years later the film maker relaunched the drama with actor Vikram in the lead role. He brought on board a crowd of stars for the project. The project was shot in seven different countries. The film entered the post production stage and the teaser of the film was dropped on social media. The teaser garnered a lot of attention and stirred a controversy for the use of an unparliamentary word. Shortly, film maker Gautham Vasudev Menon ran in to a lot of financial trouble which has hindered the release of Dhruva Natchathiram till date.
The film maker took a break from directing and began playing negative roles in flicks. Now we have news, that the story teller is making plans to bring the project to screens. It is said that the venture could be scheduled for a release in the month of June. And that their will be an official announcement on the date of release soon. This news is sure to make the fans of the director happy. The teaser which had actor Vikram in a modish getup enjoyed a fantastic response among the young audience. It set a towering anticipation on the flick. It would only be safe to assume that the expectation will skyrocket the moment an official date is set and the trailer is dropped on social media. Actor Vikram plays the character named John, a secret agent who is on a mission to rescue his head in the movie.
Besides actor Vikram, actress Ritu Varma plays the female lead in the entertainer. The film has an ensemble cast that includes actors Aishwarya Rajesh, R. Parthiban, Simran, Dhivyadharshini, Vinayakan, Arjun Das, Raadhika Sarathkumar, Vamsi Krishna, Sathish Krishnan, Munna Simon, Salim Baig, Maya S. Krishnan, Preethi Nedumaran, and Abhirami Venkatachalam in various other supporting roles. The music for the entertainer is composed by Harris Jayaraj. Cinematographers Manoj Paramahamsa, Jomon T. John, Santhana Krishnan Ravichandran, and S. R. Kathir have cranked the camera for the flick. Editor Anthony has trimmed the film. The entertainer is bankrolled by Gautham Vasudev Menon of production house Ondraga Entertainment, Venkat Somasundaram of banner house Kondaduvom Entertainment, Reshma Ghatala of production house Escape Artists Motion Pictures, and Ishari K Ganesh of banner house Vels Film International.
On the work front, actor Vikram who was last seen in Mahaan is gearing up for the release of his next project Cobra directed by R. Ajay Gnanamuthu. Following which he will have a release in the likes of magnum opus Ponniyin Selvan which is helmed by auteur Mani Ratnam. The actor will shortly begin shooting for his next untitled venture under the directorial of film maker Pa. Ranjith.
