Actor Yogi Babu has been inking his signature for numerous projects without making much noise. He is regarded as a producer friendly artist in the industry. The Yaanai Mugathaan actor made his debut as a lead hero in digital space this week with the comedy web series Chutney Sambar directed by storyteller Radha Mohan. The series has opened to positive reviews. Before the actor could relish the good news, he is set to have yet another release in Boat. Story teller Chimbu Deven of Imsai Arasan 23 M Pulikesi fame has penciled and helmed the flick. Actress Gouri G Kishan of 96 fame has depicted a pivotal part in the movie. It is officially announced that Boat will hit the screens on 2nd of August.
The makers have now unveiled the trailer of the drama on social media. Nearly two minute long trailer begins with a cautionary voice about bomber planes entering India, “Sir, 8 Japanese war planes have returned to bomb this area. 6 bombs have already been dropped.” Panic sets in. We learn that the English police officers are looking to nab a notorious killer. Boat is a survival thriller set in 1943 in the pre-independence era during British colonization of India. The story revolves around a bunch of strangers from diverse cultures who during Japan’s bombing of Madras Presidency take a boat to get to the Bay of Bengal to save their lives.
The casting unit of Boat also features actors M S Bhaskar, Chinni Jayanth, Chaams, Jesse Fox Allen, Kollapuli Leela, Sha Ra, Madhumitha, Madumkesh Prem, Chaams, and Aakshath Das. Music director Ghibran has handled musical gears for the entertainer. Madhesh Manickam has been trusted with the cinematography division. Editor Mani Maran has been brought on board to trim the flick. Art director S Ayyappan has designed the background. The project is funded by Chimbu Deven for the banner label Chimbudeven Entertainment and Prabha Premkumar under his home productions Maali and Manvi Movie Makers. Sakthivelan B will distribute the movie under his production company Sakthi Film Factory.
On the professional front, actor Yogi Babu will soon be seen on screens in Andhagan crafted by Thiagarajan with his son Prashanth in lead. He is currently engaged in his next project christened Medical Miracle crafted by K Johnson with actress Dharsha Gupta of Cook with Comali fame as female lead. Besides these ventures, the Local Sarakku star is looking at successive releases of big budgeted entertainers with superstar Suriya in the period drama Kanguva directed by Siva, and with Vijay in The Greatest Of All Time filmed by storyteller Venkat Prabhu.
